Cairns vs. Whitsunday?
I want to visit the Great Barrier Reef and other beautiful sites while on vacation in Australia in December / January.
Which is a better place to stay – Cairns or Whitsunday? Keep in mind that I’m somewhat of a budget traveler. (Ok, so I can afford a hotel, but I’m cheap and want to camp or stay in a hostel. But if you have a great recommendation for a resort that’s not all that pricey, I’m all ears!)
If on a budget Cairns would suit you better. Cairns has backpacker hostels and tourist parks for camping, plus tours to the Barrier Reef and Daintree and more.
